For those staying in the Matlock area towards the end of the school holidays, the Chatsworth House Country Fair has got to be worth a visit. The fair takes place from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th September.
Over 300 trade and craft stalls will be open to the expected 90,000 attendees but there are plenty of other things for visitors to see, including over 40 showground attractions, hot air balloons, a competitive clay pigeon shoot, a sheep dog trial, food village and even a vintage car display.
As if there weren’t plenty to see, the Chatsworth country fair gives its visitors the opportunity to try their hands at the various craft and countrside activities on show. All in all, this is a not-to-be-missed family day out for those staying in the Matlock area in the late summer.
The Chatsworth Estate is in Derbyshire approximately 10 miles north of Matlock and 15 miles from Junction 29 of the M1 (see adjacent map). For sat-nav users, the post code is DE45 1PP.
